Souper Cans

I couldn't resist jumping on the Andy Warhol soup can bandwagon.

Once I saw this simple DIY project on Young House Love I figured to give it a go.

Being inexpensive and available at Target made it very doable.

It's nice to not have to make a totally separate stop since we're usually at Target getting odds and ends anyway.

And we had the clear sealer on hand already.

I love when I can make something with supplies that we already have.

Before I went ahead, I also saw a similar idea at A Pretty Cool Life.  I loved her idea of spraying before dumping the soup so as to not ruin or warp the paper.

I used Krylon Matte Finish to first spray the cans.

Then used the can opener, dumped the soup out, and cleaned the insides.

Then sprayed again.

I think I'd prefer the triple thick gloss spray that Cheryl and Ashley used, but I wanted to try and use what I already had on hand.

I'm thinking that if I happen to get that particular type of sealer, I can always go over the cans with another coat.
Adds a cute twist to holding the kids art supplies.
I love that they can be used to hold the kids art supplies or as a charming vase.
